Today is my first day of babysitting my 9 year old cousin, Mikey. (He doesn’t like when I say “babysitting” so I made up the term “Mikey-sitting!”
) Before he came over I had one of my favorite breakfasts…
After Mikey arrived we hung out for a bit and watched “Wipeout.” (← The show is hilarious!) Then we played darts in Phil’s fort.
While we were in Phil’s fort we noticed that the walls were looking pretty bare, so we made some posters and hung them up.
Once we came inside we decided to try out a recipe I have been dying to make for a while.
HEAB’s Butternut Squash Fudge!
The fudge is super-easy to make! All you do is combine the butternut squash (I used pumpkin - it tastes better.
) and brownie mix and bake at 350°F for 30-35 minutes. (I added 3 tbsp. cocoa powder and chocolate chips because I didn’t want Mikey noticing the pumpkin taste.
)
Straight outta the oven, Mikey and I tasted some of the fudge and agreed it was a success! We put it in the fridge to cool and ate some more later. Mikey, Phil, and I thought it tasted delicious and couldn’t taste the pumpkin at all, however my mom tasted it and said she could taste pumpkin. (Maybe my mom was imagining the taste…make some and find out for yourself!)
After baking fudge we went for a 30 minute walk around the neighborhood and came home to eat lunch. I heated up some leftover pizza for the boys and made a sandwich for myself.
Very good. I really enjoy eating Al Fresco chicken sausage. Get some for yourself…now!
(Just kidding, you can wait until you go grocery shopping.
)
Speaking of grocery shopping, we also went to Shoprite and Wegmans and came home ready for some more (chilled) fudge.
I had mine with some Nutella smeared on top. ↓
Yum. ♥
