February/March Goals

by Erika

WHOA! I cannot believe that it is already March 1st.  It feels like February 1st was yesterday! :-D

Since it’s the first day (well, actually the 2nd) of the month, I figured I should check up on my February goals and then set some new ones.  Gotta keep up my New Year’s Resolutions!

February Goals – Recap

  1. Do at least one fun thing every weekend! Throughout February I actually got out a lot more than usual.  I went to school basketball games with friends, I went to Cotillion, and worked out with friends.  Overall, I think I did a great job!  A-
  2. Eat less sugar!  The first two days of the month I went completely sugar-free and loved it.  I felt so much better with less sugar that I continued it through most of the week, but after a while I started to slip, and was completely fine with it.  I don’t want to cut out all sugar anyways, but I just think I could have controlled myself better around things like Tropical Mango Bread and Chocolate Chip Cookie BrowniesC+
  3. Stop procrastinating!  This was another one that I did really well with in the beginning and then began slacking at the end.  I have been starting my homework right when I get home from school instead of spending an hour on Facebook though!  B-

March Goals

  1. Eat less sugar!  I feel like this is going to be a continued effort on my part, so I’m going to post it as a goal again.
  2. Use what I have!  Our pantry is filled to the brim with various flours and other baking necessities, yet I still find a recipe where I need something else that I will probably never use again.  This month I want to start using up ingredients that I have on hand before I go out and buy others.
  3. Find time for yoga!  Now that I am able to run again, I find myself neglecting yoga and stretching.  While I was injured I fell in love with yoga and don’t want it to be forgotten (again!)  Since spring track starts in a few days and I will be running almost everyday, I’m going to aim for about an hour of yoga a week.

Sorry for another wordy post!  I promise I’ll be back to regular, photo-filled posts soon!  :-D

Questions of the Day:

  1. Do you set monthly or weekly goals for yourself?  If so, what are they?
  2. Do you ever find yourself slacking on your goals?  What do you do about it?

Have a great Wednesday! :-D

  1. I think of goals but never write them down. My top 2 goals this month are to run more and control myself food-wise on the weekend. yikes!

  2. I’m such a goal setter! Like you I would love to reduce my sugar! I think I’m going to do one sugar free day a week :)

  3. I hear you on the using up other ingredients before buying new ones… hence why I haven’t jumped on the socca bandwagon quite yet!

  4. great goals I TOTALLY agree on using up ingredient in the pantry (i might make that one of mine too!)!!! I am going to post mine tomorrow :D

  5. Great goals!!!!!!
I was trying to cut back on sugar….but then I found doughnut muffins….which are sugar coated. ugh. I’m going to work on that this month!

  6. I set monthly goals, but I can forget about them sometimes!

  7. I love yoga!! I always find myself forgetting about it when I’m in the in season too though; so I’m trying to incorporate my power yoga every saturday if I can! Great job on the lower sugar goal; I could never do that! ;)

    • I love doing yoga on the weekends because then I can do it first thing in the morning. After a good morning yoga sesh, I feel energized all day long! :-D

  8. sounds like a great bunch of goals for march! good luck with them!

  9. I set monthly goals or even weekly ones just trying to kick bad habits (not floss ehm ehm). I do this in the early days of the month but I always forgot during the month.

In February, I achieved the goal not to buy ANY clothes or shoes for the entire month! I’m so proud since I’m quite a shopaholic =)

Great goals, though! I specially love the second one, always in the philosophy of buying less!!

  10. I definitely need to use stuff up that we have already in the kitchen. I always end up buying something new when I shop, but I really need to find creative ways to use what we already have! Our pantry is so crowded!
I set yearly goals, monthly goals, weekly goals, daily goals.. I’m a list maker, haha. When I feel especially bogged down with stuff for school, I list everything that I need or want to do. I rate things 1, 2, and 3 and make sure to get the number 1 things done, at least some of the number 2 things, and hopefully some number 3 things if everything works out.

  11. i love the idea of monthly goals! i really like your goals, too-very realistic and beneficial.
i don’t really do this, but perhaps i should start :)

  12. I love your goals! I set mine in my head lol! Totally with you on the use what I have goal! I spent an embarrassingly crazy amount on groceries last night and don’t need to buy more!!

  13. I love your goals girlie! :D I’m with you on the less sugar! I don’t eat sugar as it is now (excluding natural sugar from fruit), but it is a continual goal for me. :) Try out some of my recipes if your striving for less sugar! :)

    I <3 YOGA!

  14. I have so many fitness goals! Since the weather been nicer i have been running a LOT but ignoring yoga and streching…i have to get back into it otherwise it might sideline me later

  15. I am totally with you on the “use what you have” goal! I really need to do this too! My cupboards are bursting with all kinds of flours that need to be made into something tasty!

I have my goals for the year…I haven’t recapped on my blog yet since I’ve been slacking a bit, but my main goal is still to drink more water. It’s easier to do when I’m at work since we have a filtered water machine and I’m more into a routine, but sometimes on the weekend, I’ll go all day without it! Eek!

  16. I have a hard time sticking to the less sugar goal as well!!!
I need to start following the use what you have goal – I have so much food but always go to the grocery store…waste of money!!
One of my goals is to make a budget for food so hopefully i can cut back!
